Our organization is currently seeking a highly skilled Warehouse Team Leader to join our team in Viana, Portugal. This individual will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse staff, ensuring the efficient operation of our logistics and inventory management processes. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a strong understanding of supply chain management, and the ability to motivate and train team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the activities of warehouse team members, including task assignment and logistics objectives
  • Train new team members on safety procedures, equipment operation, and 5S practices
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, cost, delivery, and motivation within the team
  • Participate in problem-solving activities related to safety and quality issues
  • Conduct daily meetings with team members and facilitate communication between shifts, focusing on product performance indicators
  • Support the implementation of production tools, such as visual support, JIT, 5S, and Kanban
  • Ensure adherence to control plans through daily audits
  • Manage inbound and outbound warehouse activities, ensuring flexibility and team management between areas

Requirements:

  • Secondary education, preferably with technical-professional training, or a degree in engineering or a related field
  • Previous experience in a similar role, with a preference for experience in the automotive environment
  • Experience managing a team of at least 30 people will be valued
  • Knowledge and experience with automated material handling equipment, such as forklifts, and a valid certification for safe handling of forklifts
  • Problem-solving skills, including knowledge of quality tools and lean principles
  • Computer knowledge from a user's perspective and knowledge of automotive industry standards
