Salary: This position offers a competitive salary range of EUR 20,000 - 30,000, reflecting the demands of the role and the benefits provided.
Job Summary: As a Certified Instrument Preparer, you will play a crucial role in preparing and packaging surgical instruments/equipment for sterilization, adhering to strict standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately handle and care for instruments/equipment, selecting cleaning agents, lubricants, and examining them for function, completeness, and cleanliness.
- Identify, document, and report equipment and tools requiring repair, ensuring maintenance is completed in a timely manner.
- Organize, prepare, assemble, and sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies according to hospital/medical facility standards.
- Correctly peel-pack supplies/instruments, wrap instruments for sterilization, inspect each instrument for use, function, completeness, and cleanliness.
- Load, monitor, operate, and maintain different types of cleaning and sterilization equipment and machinery accurately and safely.
- Assist in maintaining records of all equipment and supplies, ordering supplies as needed, and monitoring quality control and infection control standards.
- Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to Memorial Hermann's policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications.
Requirements:
- Certification in Sterile Processing preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one year experience in sterile processing department or certificate of completion from a sterile processing course
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English language
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to lift and/or maneuver supplies and equipment in conjunction with others
- Ability to perform basic computer skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Be able to work in a team environment
