About this opportunity

Gleeds is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Specialist to join our Finance and Admin team in Iberica. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, including the preparation of monthly financial statements, internal financial reports, and collaboration with external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage auxiliary and analytical accounting, perform day-to-day accounting tasks, ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.
  • Develop and maintain internal reports to support management decision-making, ensure reports are delivered on time and meet the needs of various stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the external collaborator handling accounting in Portugal, review their work to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning.
  • Ensure strict compliance with financial regulations and assist with internal and external audits as required.
  • Liaise between head office and local management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in accounting operations.
  • Assist the Finance responsible and Administrative director with other duties within the scope of the role.

About You

Who we're looking for:

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Portuguese system.
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
