Brand & Narrative Strategy Intern (Founding Team) Location: Caldas da Rainha/ Hybrid (Portugal preferred) Type: Paid Internship → Growth Path to Head of Brand Start: ASAP This is not a content-creator role. Hertel Robotics is building autonomy systems for environments where failure is not an option: open ocean, storms, moving vessels, search & rescue, and high-risk cinematic operations. We are looking for a Brand & Narrative Strategist in the making — someone who helps define what we stand for, how we speak, and why anyone should care before the product is finished. Your Mission Help shape the long-term narrative, positioning, and brand strategy of a deep-tech company operating at the intersection of engineering, risk, and human experience. What You Will Do Work directly with the founder on: Brand positioning & category definition Core narrative and messaging Long-term storytelling strategy Translate complex autonomy technology into simple, human meaning Study and dissect: Apple, Tesla, SpaceX, Red Bull, Patagonia Legendary ads and campaigns (not trends) Help design: Messaging frameworks Early campaigns Brand voice & tone Ask uncomfortable but necessary questions: "Why should anyone care?" "What are we really selling?" "What promise are we making?" What You Will NOT Do (at first) Cut social media clips all day Chase likes or vanity metrics Post content without strategy Who You Are Obsessive about meaning, not metrics Curious about psychology, storytelling, and culture Comfortable with ambiguity Not impressed by startup hype Wants to grow into Head of Brand / Marketing Strategy Why This Is Rare Founding-level influence Real responsibility early A brand that will matter if done right Freedom + accountability If this excites you more than it scares you — apply.
