As Economic Adviser in the Embassy’s Political & Economic Section , you’ll brief senior stakeholders with clear, data‑driven insight, track macro trends, and help deliver the Country Plan . You’ll also develop contact networks and support programme delivery—from budget planning to public‑facing events. The role at a glance Analysis & reporting (40%) —regular economic products on Portugal (and Cabo Verde) and targeted fiscal/financial analysis. Policy support (40%) —grow expertise, engage stakeholders, enable visits/exchanges (current themes include health/healthy ageing and trade/market access ). Administration (20%) —programme fund rules, budget monitoring, and event support. Essentials : Fluency in English & Portuguese (C1) , degree in Economics/Finance/International Relations (with strong economics) , strong Excel/statistics and good knowledge of Portuguese economy. Salary & conditions: €24,570.88 annually + €193.60/month meal allowance; Right to work in Portugal required (no visa sponsorship). Start: 1 Apr 2026 (pending security clearance) - Lisbon, 35h/week.
