Software Engineering Manager

We are looking for a hands‑on Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing team in designing and building a new global SaaS platform from the ground up. You will work closely with architects and product leadership to define the vision, drive technical excellence, and deliver scalable, cloud‑native software used across international telecom operations. This role combines people leadership with technical influence — perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering, mentorship, architecture, and execution. Leadership & Delivery Lead, coach, and develop a team of backend engineers working with Java, Spring, AWS, and Kubernetes. Drive agile delivery practices and continuous improvement across the team. Work closely with Product, Architecture, and Platform teams to define roadmaps and delivery goals. Ensure alignment across squads and remove delivery blockers. Technical Ownership Provide architectural direction and technical guidance on cloud‑native, distributed system design. Oversee implementation of high‑performance microservices using Java and Spring Boot. Ensure reliable, secure, and scalable deployment environments on AWS and Kubernetes. Champion DevOps practices — CI/CD, automation, observability, and operational excellence. Promote clean coding, testing discipline, and best engineering patterns. Mentor engineers through career development, code reviews, and knowledge‑sharing. Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and accountability. Drive hiring, onboarding, and growth of engineering talent. Experience: Required: Strong engineering background in Java and the Spring framework. Experience building or scaling cloud‑native microservices platforms. Hands‑on familiarity with AWS, containerisation, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD automation. Track record of coaching and growing engineering teams. Experience delivering complex software projects in agile environments. Nice‑to‑Have: Experience launching greenfield platforms or large‑scale SaaS applications. Telecom industry experience or exposure to network‑driven platforms. Knowledge of infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm). Understanding of security, compliance, and high availability architectures. Background working in globally distributed teams.
