Role Overview: We are looking for an Azure Data Engineer to join a strategic data team for a leading organisation in the consumer services sector. The project involves building scalable data pipelines, enabling advanced analytics, and supporting Data Engineering and Machine Learning initiatives using the Databricks platform in a cloud environment. It's an Hybrid model. What you will do: Develop, optimise, and maintain data pipelines using Databricks (Apache Spark); Implement data ingestion, transformation, and validation processes (ETL/ELT); Work with Delta Lake to ensure data quality, performance, and governance; Develop notebooks in PySpark, SQL, and optionally Scala (preferably PySpark); Integrate data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, data lakes, data warehouses); Collaborate with Data Science teams to support analytical and Machine Learning models; Ensure best practices in performance, security, and cost control; Participate in defining data architectures in cloud environments; Document technical solutions and support production deployment. What you are like: At least 2 years of work experience as a Data Engineer; Experienced in Databricks and Apache Spark; Proficient in Python (PySpark) and SQL programming; Skilled in working with cloud environments (Azure); Solid understanding of data modelling and concepts of Data Lake/Data Warehouse; Comfortable with building and managing data pipelines for large-scale datasets; Fluency in English.
