Reach IT – Nearshore Data Engineering Opportunity Our nearshore expertise sets us apart. We are expanding our engineering team with a highly technical and high-impact role: We are looking for a Data Engineer (AWS) – Hybrid Porto to design, build, and operate reliable, maintainable, and scalable data solutions within a large-scale cloud transformation program. If you are passionate about cloud data engineering, data pipelines, and modern data architectures — this challenge is for you Your Responsibilities: ✅ Advise on data strategy, architecture, and implementation approaches in a cloud-based environment; ✅ Design and develop end-to-end data pipelines on public cloud platforms, primarily AWS (Azure/GCP when relevant); ✅ Implement and optimize Lakehouse architectures , with a strong focus on Apache Iceberg (Hudi and Delta Lake as a plus); ✅ Build, automate, and maintain ETL processes, data workflows, and pipeline orchestration using Airflow, Step Functions, and AWS Workflow ; ✅ Ensure high standards of reliability, automation, maintainability, and security across all delivered data solutions; ✅ Support incident resolution, root cause analysis, and preventive actions when required; ✅ Share knowledge and best practices with internal teams to strengthen technical capabilities; ✅ Work closely with delivery managers, architects, project managers, developers, and business analysts in a collaborative setup; ✅ Participate in relevant ceremonies, reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions . Skills & Experience: 3–5 years of experience building data pipelines on public cloud platforms , preferably AWS (Azure/GCP also considered); 1+ year of experience in data solution architecture, design, development, and support ; Database architecture, ETL, BI, Big Data, ML, and Advanced Analytics ; Spark ecosystems (Hadoop is a plus); Pipeline orchestration (Airflow, Step Functions, AWS Workflow); Lakehouse architectures (Iceberg) and data optimization techniques (e.g., compaction, Z-Order); Software development and data transformation using Python, SQL, SQL Server, SSIS packages, Docker, CI/CD, and automation ; AWS services: Lambda, Glue, Crawlers, Step Functions, DynamoDB, AWS Batch ; DevOps and Agile principles , infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform ), and artifact/vulnerability management; Awareness of cloud foundation services (networking, security, storage, IAM); Strong communication and collaboration skills in multicultural environments ; Fluent in English (written and spoken); French is a plus .
