**Responsibilities**:
In this role, you will be the foundation of the Microsoft teams that are responsible for driving high AI technology such as AI assistance to people’s daily life, meeting captioning, etc. You will be responsible for managing a team of transcription specialists who are responsible annotating ground truth as input for machine learning. The transcription specialist tasks include using in house tools to annotate data with high accuracy and consistency.
As a transcription specialist manager, you will:
- Be the people manager to a team of transcription specialists and transcription specialist leads:
- Understand the human aspects of work, encouraging your directs to always put on their best performance, but understanding and allowing them to grow.
- Lead a large diverse group of people to deliver quality data in a dynamic, ever-changing field.
- Recruit, train, grow and retain a large team of transcription specialists.
- Model, Coach and Care for employees while growing our diversity and inclusion mindset.
- Develop and manage a repeatable framework:
- Embed security and privacy as part of the team’s daily culture.
- Identify improvement ideas to increase business value, increase productivity or improve our team.
- Analyze and monitor the team's performance scorecard, and develop improvement plans.
- Schedule weekly work around available capacity and in conjunction with peers across the globe.
- Identify and inform management of risks and opportunities and keep the senior management informed.
This role is located in Lisbon, Portugal and requires the work to be performed in the office.
**Qualifications**:
**Basic Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's Degree and work experience in operations, program management, process management or process improvement.
- Fluent in English - both written and spoken.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Excellent communication skills - both written and spoken.
- Managerial experience.
- Experience with transcription services.
- Skilled at defining processes and guidelines.
- Motivated to work with internationally and geographically distributed teams.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, possess a high energy level to react to situations quickly and decisively.
- Experience in language/linguistic/localization/computational-linguistics.
- Experience in language technology including Speech.
- Proficient in multiple languages.
- Some understanding of machine learning a plus.
- Relevant certifications.
**This job requires the individual to work at the office location.
