Reporting directly to our** VP Category Management & Operations **the **Taxonomy Specialist** will work in the 1WorldSync Product Data Model management tool to make modifications and additions to the 1WorldSync proprietary taxonomy structure and the related data model. Working across all product verticals including consumer electronics, consumables, non-consumable packaged goods, white goods, and others, this role will perform the ongoing configuration of 1WorldSync proprietary product categorisation as related to industry-standard taxonomies, as well as the definition of attributes related to discrete categories. This is a production-oriented role that works directly with data and content assembly teams to populate 1WorldSync content syndication platforms. This resource interacts widely throughout the organisation to include content production, client solution engineering, and product management.

As **Taxonomy Specialist **at 1WorldSync, responsibilities include the following:

- Work directly with 1WorldSync’s Product Data Model management tool to configure taxonomy and product data models and standards to define and govern product data assembly and categorisation
- Contribute to the refinement of data retrieval techniques related to our extensive product catalog and to improve customer data quality
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects with data model management, engineers, designers, and other groups that may include category and/or attribute expansion
- Analyse website metrics and customer behaviour data to make intelligent decisions to optimize our models and designs
- Collaborate with global standards and taxonomist experts globally to align on standard modeling best practices and meaningful local exceptions
- Participate in team operational excellence programs, data quality initiatives, and process simplifications
- Contribute to team goal setting and future state vision
- Other duties as assigned

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- Knowledge and interest in consumer electronics - professionally or as a hobby
- Experience in E-Commerce or Technology preferred (not mandatory)
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, and calm under pressure
- Good computer skills and keen to learn and understand our internal systems
- Comfortable with English - written and spoken to communicate internally
- Passionate about website usability and the role of metadata in improving customer shopping experiences
- Confident to take and provide feedback to help us constantly improve
- Someone who is pragmatic, likes to do good work and inspire others to do good work, and is genuinely interested in helping customers

**Desired Skills and Experience**:

- 1+ year experience in the area of product master data, taxonomy, catalog, or content development in an e-Commerce or technology environment
- 1+ year experience in product master data assembly and management or taxonomy development
- Great verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical and metadata information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work and deliver effectively in cross-functional teams
