**Role Overview**

Hive Cascais is seeking a passionate, creative, and reliable **Chef** to lead our in-house kitchen and catering. You will craft delicious, nutritious, and primarily plant-based menus that embody the Hive Cascais vision: healthy, balanced, and beautifully presented.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Menu Planning & Preparation**
- Design daily menus that are diverse, healthy, and visually appealing, accommodating dietary preferences (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies).
- Maintain detailed technical sheets for all menu items to ensure consistency and budget compliance.
- Source high-quality, fresh ingredients within budget.

**2. Cooking & Presentation**
- Prepare, cook, and present meals and snacks in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure consistency in quality, presentation, and portion sizes.
- Create a welcoming dining experience that fosters community connection.
- Gather feedback and continuously refine offerings.

**3. Event Catering & Support**
- Design and deliver tailored menus for workshops, private events, and in-house gatherings.
- Collaborate with the events and operations team to ensure smooth service.
- Manage setup, service, and clearing of catering areas while maintaining presentation standards.

**4. Health, Safety & Hygiene**
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Keep kitchen and service areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Monitor equipment functionality and coordinate maintenance as needed.

**5. Resource & Budget Management**
- Track inventory and stock levels to minimize waste.
- Support budgeting by monitoring costs and presenting monthly updates to the core team.

**Skills & Qualifications**

**Essential**:

- 3+ years of professional kitchen experience (chef, sous-chef, or catering lead).
- Proven ability to plan and execute creative, healthy menus within budget.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork.
- Fluent in Portuguese and English.
- Certified in food safety and hygiene.
- Own reliable transportation.

**Desirable**:

- Experience in hospitality, members’ clubs, or boutique wellness/lifestyle environments.
- Passion for nutrition, wellness, and community-driven hospitality.
- Expertise in plant-based cooking and dietary adaptations.

**Working Hours**
- Freelance contract equivalent to 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9 AM to 5PM.
- Flexible schedule with occasional evenings or weekends for events.
- Weekday adjustments to maintain work-life balance.
