Job Details
This role involves working as part of a big project team within a Global Transformation programme. The role of the Senior PMO Coordinator covers a diverse range of activities to support the delivery of the project's objectives.
The senior project coordinator will be responsible for providing support to Programme/Project Managers in the maintenance of all activities required in the PMO, specifically that of Risk and Issue Management, Reporting, Governance and Assurance activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the successful implementation of the PMO’s strategy, responsibilities, services and deliverables.
- Ensure adherence to Governance processes and coordinate change control processes for the project.
- Responsible for coordinating inputs and assisting the project team/leads in the preparation of status reports to Senior Management and stakeholders.
- Update and maintain the Risk Log, Action Log, Decisions Log, and Issue Register
- Ensure cross-programme/project dependencies are managed and the dependency log is accurately maintained.
- Coordinate project closure to distil good practice and ensure lessons learned are logged.
- Produces and distributes relevant material and follows up on actions after meetings taken place.
- Act as a point of contact in Project Manager's absence.
- Contributes to continuous improvement of PMO community.
Role Requirements:
- At least five years of relevant project management or PMO management experience
- An organised and proactive self-starter who is able to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Experience of working in a PMO, Project or Programme environment on high priority, complex, business and IT programmes and projects.
- Experience of producing high quality documentation, briefing papers, reports and presentations; strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex sources of data and draw conclusions and derive recommendations.
- Experience of supporting/ working on projects using AGILE or PRINCE2 methodology (or equivalent) for medium to large sized projects
- Experience of enterprise PPM tools/ERP PPM modules such as Planview, Oracle
- One or more recognised portfolio, programme or project management qualifications, e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, P3O, MoR, PPSO, APM PMQ or RPP, PMP or PMI.
