**Job Purpose**:
The SOC Analyst is responsible for first line support of services for Logicalis Managed Security customers.
The SOC Analysts operate as part of a 24x7x365 shift, continuously monitoring services utilizing a number of toolsets, to conduct initial triage of alerts to identify potential, false positives, policy violations, intrusion attempts, security threats and potential compromises. Consolidating data through alert triage to provide necessary context prior to escalating to the Security Specialists to perform deeper analysis when necessary.
In addition, the Analyst team handle customer calls into the SOC Support Services Desk, managing customer security event & incidents and service requests via the Logicalis Optimal Services Portal.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Continuously monitoring the alert queue for multiple-sized clients, from small business to large government agencies using multiple tools
- Conduct initial triage of alerts to identify potential, false positives, policy violations, intrusion attempts and compromises
- Consolidating data from alert triage to provide context necessary to Security Specialist & Senior Security Specialists work
- Escalating triaged alerts to Security Specialist & Senior Security Specialists for deeper analysis and review
- Environment is 24x7x365. Day/Night shift; weekend and holiday work may be required. A specific shift cannot be guaranteed but attempts will be made to place personnel on their desired shift
- Research vulnerabilities
- Run through checklists on a daily basis to ensure security systems are running optimally
- Ensure that when problems are discovered that they are solved effectively and creatively if required
- Assist senior SOC staff with operational responsibilities
- Continuously improve themselves by studying applicable material provided, related to the role
- Deploy antivirus software, Data Loss Protection (DLP) and Endpoint Encryption on client servers and workstations using central console systems
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to the security environment configuration, processes, and service records
- Provide reports on managed solutions
