We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytical and diligent Payroll Specialist. As part of the GBS HR team, this role will support Payroll processes across a number of countries.

In this role, you will support Payroll processes for employees based across numerous geographical locations and at all levels of seniority within the organization. Convatec has employees in over 45 countries and continues to grow in line with demand for our products. We view people as our greatest asset and the production of an accurate and timely payroll is crucial to our relationship with our employees.

**As part of your role, key responsibilities include**:

- Processing payroll across multiple countries, working with in-country payroll processors where they exist.
- Supporting and where possible optimising payroll execution systems and processes, to facilitate the collection, calculation, and entering of data.
- Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes
- Supports employee queries relating to payroll as they arise, working with in-country payroll processors to do so
- Liaises closely with 3rd party payroll providers, ‘in country’ payroll teams and centralised support teams to ensure a best in breed delivery of payroll solution
- Designs and prepares appropriate reports to support the business
- Manages relationships with stakeholders such as the payroll COE, Finance, wider HR, Benefits team, 3rd Party payroll providers and employees
- Ensures compliance with local legislation, including tax and social security
- Supports required reconciliations with the Finance team, such as payments to statutory bodies, General Ledger files, etc
- Maintains payroll guidelines and processes by writing, updating and supporting policies and procedures
- Supports the development and maintenance of audit procedures and control reports to ensure the accurate processing of payroll
- Ensures a clear and uniform payroll approach across jurisdictions
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

**What you can expect**:
We will be providing a 4-week induction and training period to engage you in everything that Convatec represents for our patients, customers and employees and to upskill you in all the tools and systems you will leverage to deliver successful in this role.

You will be joining a newly formed shared services team, with opportunities to grow, within payroll or wider HR functions.

It would be an advantage if you had the following:

- Previous experience using Workday
- Experience of payroll processing across multiple countries
- Experience of working closely with third party payroll provider model such as ADP, Safeguard or TMF.

**Language skills required**
- Good written and spoken English is essential for our opportunities in Lisbon and Bogota. We will also require fluent Spanish for our Bogota opportunities.
- If you have other languages including German, French, Italian, Danish or Portuguese, this will be an advantage.

**Working conditions**
- We support a hybrid working approach and you will be working 1 day/week in our Lisbon office.
- As you will be supporting markets in multiple time zones, some flexibility around working hours will be needed.
