We are seeking an exceptional Engineering Lead (Tech Lead) Fullstack Software Engineer to join a world-class engineering team in Lisbon, Portugal. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, guiding our development team as we build innovative financial solutions for European entrepreneurs. This role is based in Lisbon, Portugal and reports to the Head of Engineering while closely collaborating with the CTO.

**Tasks**:

- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of fullstack and mobile engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Own the end-to-end delivery of complex features and products across web and mobile platforms, from requirements gathering and architectural design to implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Make key architectural and technology decisions to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability of our platform.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, and documentation for both web and mobile codebases.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high standards across the team.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions for web and mobile users.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges and bottlenecks, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in software engineering, fintech, cloud, and mobile technologies, and proactively propose improvements.
- Champion a DevSecOps and automation-first mindset to streamline development and deployment workflows.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and growth of engineering talent within the organization.

**Requirements**:

- 8+ years of professional experience in fullstack software engineering, including experience in mobile app development.
- At least 2 years in a technical leadership or team lead role.
- Deep expertise in modern frontend frameworks (React.js, Next.js) and strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Proven experience in mobile development using React Native and/or native Android and iOS technologies.
- Solid experience with backend technologies such as Node.js (NestJS, Express), Python, or Java, and familiarity with microservice architectures.
- Proven track record working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker, Serverless), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of security, performance, and scalability best practices in fintech or regulated environments.
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams, ideally in a startup or scale-up context.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Portuguese is a plus), with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion for mentoring and developing engineers, with a collaborative and inclusive leadership style.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Is a plus:

- Prior experience in fintech, banking, or high-growth SaaS platforms.
- Hands-on experience delivering high quality AI-powered coding and e2e testing (e.g. Copilot, Windsurf, Cline, etc).
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, automated testing frameworks, and observability/monitoring tools.
- Exposure to regulatory compliance (GDPR, PCI DSS) and secure development practices.
- Experience with mobile app store deployment processes and automation (App Store, Google Play).

**Work Arrangement**:
