The Senior Manager, Financial Accounting role is part of a dynamic and integrated Finance function delivering operational Finance specialist services. The role will report to Director, Financial Accounting (Record to Report - R2R) and will work with internal and external partners to ensure processes are performed in accordance with performance and quality standards.

Directly lead a team of Financial Accounting Analysts located in Kantar Business Services (KBS) Porto, as well as working in partnership with in-market Financial Controllers, Genpact R2R team, Group Functions, Global Process Owners (GPOs) and other internal and external customers of KBS.

The Senior Manager, Financial Accounting will be required to execute the following responsibilities:
- Directly lead a team of Financial Accounting Analysts located in Kantar Business Services (KBS) Porto- Responsible for leading control and accounting activities, financial close & reporting, and adherence to statutory requirements at a country level.- Responsible for ensuring that the general ledger is reflective of the company’s true financial position- Review and approve revenue recognition, lease accounting (IFRS16), non-standard Business Process Outsource transactions, fixed asset revaluations- Ensure the agreement of all trading and non-trading intercompany balances with the relevant other parties, resolving any discrepancies- Review and approve period close entries, out of period adjustments- Accountable for the completion and review of all required reconciliations supporting the monthly accounts, meeting agreed deadlines- Responsible for overseeing the reconciliation of all general ledger accounts and corrective actions agreed in the balance sheet and trial balance review- Work closely with the BPO to prepare the statutory reporting and with country Financial Controller to review and finalise statutory reporting- Conduct country level consolidation, review, and submit accounts for group consolidation- Responsible for controls compliance, audit requests and other internal controls requirements related to RDC processes.- Support the coordination and management of the Knowledge Transfer and Stabilisation phase- Take ownership for the overall team performance and the quality of the services delivered to the organisation- Provide leadership and mentoring to the team, including people development planning, objective setting and performance management- Maintain close relationships with customer/ 3rd party delivery partner management to ensure responsiveness to their needs, track their service delivery and escalate and support resolution of any performance issues- Develop sound professional working relationships with colleagues across KBS and local businesses, building their confidence and acquiring an understanding of the business

Role Requirements- Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)- Proven experience in accounting operations or experience working in a finance Shared Service Centre (SSC) or Global Business Services environment- Strong understanding of accounting, financial reporting principles and practices- Fluent English speaker, accurately able to read and write English and to communicate effectively with senior partners and management- Strong financial, analytical, communication and project management skills- Willingness to work flexibly across geographic time zones during peak periods such as period end
