**Purpose of the job**: Leading the credit risk management in the Shared Service Centre (SSC)

**Tasks and responsibilities**:

- Customer credit risk assessment based on key metrics, sales team feedback, agency reports, market information and financial data.
- Manages the relationship with credit insurance companies for the approval and maximization of customer’s credit coverage.
- Discusses and asks for guidance and support from Kp group insurance broker, on all topics related to credit insurance and factoring
- Manages the relationship between credit insurance and the factoring program ensuring that all communications are working.
- Maximizes the funding potential through factoring by securing credit coverage from insurers.
- Assigns risk categories and sets credit limit according to the threshold defined for the position.
- Obtains approval for the assignment of internal credit limits above his/her threshold, according to the defined approval matrix.
- Permanent collaboration with sales and customers to understand potential underlying risks and escalates to manager if necessary.
- Meet with customers whenever necessary to improve relationship from a finance perspective.
- Review and update the credit risk policy in alignment with the Group and AR manager.
- Produce accurate and timely reports.
- Ensure compliance with all policies in place for AR, processes, and service level agreement.
- Support cash collection team in credit risk matters.
- Manages the monthly bad debt provision process.
- Participates and discusses with legal teams (external and/or internal), all legal cases to minimize bad debt write-off.
- Negotiation and approval of payment plans with customers, involving AR manager whenever necessary.
- Training the team in credit risk processes and credit insurance policies.

**Knowledge**:

- Strong knowledge of IFRS.
- Good knowledge of accounting standards in one of the following GAAPs: Portugal, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, UK or USA.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory environment for credit and collection procedure.
- Project planning and project management skills.

**Functional/Technical Skills**:

- Bachelor or master’s degree in accounting or Finance or similar field.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Strong Leadership, Teamwork and People Management skills.
- Excellent Planning and Organisation.
- Persuasiveness and Negotiation skills.
- Effective business writing and professional communication skills.
- Ability to think in complex environments and work in global matrix organizations.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.

**Experience**:

- 5+ years of professional experience in accounts receivable.
- 3+ years of leading teams experience.
- Experience in factoring and credit insurance.
- Experience within a Shared Service Centre environment and transition.
