**The team you'll be part of**
Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).
Our 5G software team in Amadora is looking for talented developers to implement software with hard real-time requirements for Nokia’s 5G base station products. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Nokia. Our responsibility area covers the full chain of embedded and real-time software development cycle, from early requirements analysis to final delivery to our operations and customers. Join us in shaping the future with our next generation baseband, with exposure to Nokia’s cutting-edge System on Chip (SoC).
Layer1 (L1) is the Physical Layer of networks according to the OSI model. Our team is developing embedded software, which together with the hardware chips makes up the Layer1 part of the signal processing chain. We are responsible for the baseband processing for Nokia’s 4G and 5G products. Those products go directly to our customers, primarily telecom providers, which use them to serve millions of people with 4G/5G networks. Layer1 is especially important, because it is the first line of defense against data errors which occur when signals are transmitted over the air. Data can be protected and recovered with a series of signal processing operations, which our team is implementing. In addition, our software needs to be highly optimized to serve as many users with as fast speeds and as low power consumption as possible, and with hard real-time processing requirements.

**What you will learn and contribute to**
Our development teams will be split to multiple scrum teams, each with their own LPO who helps them plan and prioritise on a day-to-day basis. An Area Product Owner (APO) will focus on higher level planning and deliverables, and coordinates with the LPOs. Together, the product owners help plan related work for their teams, collaborating with others in a global multi-site environment.
As part of our team, your responsibilities will be:
- Ownership of development items within own team
- Accountable for own team’s backlog on JIRA, reviews and sets priorities.
- Responsible for pipeline and efficiency within own team
- Responsible for planning, execution, and reporting of the tests for the legacy features owned by the team
- Member of the Agile team responsible for defining User Stories
- Responsible for following-up Definition of Done (DoD) and for declaring team backlog items as done
- Coordinates team dependencies with other Agile teams
- Participates in PO Sync to address relevant topics with PM and other POs

**Guiding qualifications**:
- Several years of experience in software development domain
- Experience in project management in global R&D environment
- Understanding of LTE/5G system and L1 technology area
- Understanding of the benefits of agile SW development and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery practices
**We also appreciate the following**:
- Signal processing or physical layer processing or real time platform services & Linux experience.
- Background in managing product quality
- Understanding of Nokia RAN R&D and related product creation processes and tools
