**Purpose of the job**:
Processing General Ledger (GL) activities in the Shared Service Center (SSC).

**Main Tasks and responsibilities**:
Perform period end activities such as booking of journal entries, currency revaluation, accruals and provisions, etc ;
Provide support related to annual and interim audits in close cooperation with other departments and auditors;
Perform inventory accounting and post adjustments;
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information, to internal or external parties, including group accounting and auditors;
Ensure compliance with all internal and external accounting standards, laws and regulations, policies and procedures;
Perform balance sheet reconciliation and accounts reviews by providing explanations of variances;
**Support local team by**: planning, monitoring and coordinating of closing process.

**Knowledge**:
Good knowledge of IFRS;
Knowledge of accounting standards in at least one of the following GAAPs: Portugal, France;
Good Knowledge in Internal Controls;
Preferable project management skills.

**Functional/Technical skills**:
Bachelor degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or similar field;
Professional working proficiency in English, other languages would be a plus;
Proficiency in ERP systems (mandatory SAP) and MS Office, namely, advanced MS Excel knowledge;
Good analytical, planning and organization skills, anticipating and resolving potential issues in an effective and timely manner;
Effective business writing and professional communication skills;
Ability to work in an international global environment.

Treat sensitive and/or confidential information appropriately.

**Experience**:
4-5+ years of work experience in GL within a Share Service Center;
Preparation of financial closings for a company or group of companies;
Group reporting preparation and submission.
