The Security Engineering Manager will support the CISO organization to plan and direct the activities of cross-functional teams assigned to IT Security projects leading implementation and improvement of security safeguards.
This role plays a significant part in our Global Information Security team and will provide an excellent opportunity to liaise with key external and internal stakeholders locally while strengthening our Information Security function.
You will work closely with and will be part of a global CIO organization structure partnering with the Business Units community and their related teams. You will also find yourself working together with other IQVIA Information Security managers and staff, and with Business Unit teams. This is an opportunity to join and progress with a forward-thinking department.
Your primary responsibilities
- Lead planning, implementation and tuning of technical information security safeguards
- Coordinate building requirements, product evaluations, POCs, and document effectiveness of tools and technologies to meet IQVIA requirements
- Execute technical security safeguards implementation and operationalization
- Continuously identify gaps and improvements of IQVIA security safeguards
- Provide consultative advice ensuring security design of safeguards aligns with business needs and the company's overall security governance
- Employ risk based approach in control selection and implementation
- Document and maintain designs for the new and/or improved security controls as well as document work instructions for the Security Operations personnel
- Create security standards and procedures
- Keep abreast with current security threats, trends and controls
- Engage and work with vendors on projects and current security controls improvement
- Support IQVIA business projects providing Information Security Expertise and knowledge for applicable security controls
- Defines project scope and objectives
- Initiate, plan, execute and completes project plan
- Interface with all areas affected by the project including CISO, business units, CIO teams, vendors, procurement, legal, HR, and accounts payable
- Provide direction and mentoring to more junior level team members
- Plan and manage resource allocation and task assignment within the project team
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in Information Security Engineering, IT Delivery, IT Program Management or other related areas
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Sciences or equivalent work experience in related areas is preferred
- Knowledge of Cloud Architecture and Security
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and presentation skills, with ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to interact effectively with leadership, solution architecture, software engineering, testing and infrastructure teams
- Track record of successfully leading large/complex global cross functional projects
- A CISSP, CISM, CCSP or equivalent professional certificate is mandatory
- PMP, PMO, Scrum Certifications along with ITIL or IT architecture, such as TOGAF or SABSA are a great plus
- Working knowledge of IT governance frameworks and standards such as CobiT, ITIL, ISO27001, NIST cybersecurity framework
- Working knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements frameworks related to information security for healthcare data, such as HIPAA, EU Data Protection Directive and/or equivalent regional frameworks is preferred
