- **Head of Accounting** is responsible for the day-to-day aspects of the business’s accounting and reporting functions and he reports directly to the Chief Finance Officer who takes responsibility over the entire financial department. He is additionally expected to work with other finance departments in deciding on complex modeling of the business’s financial approaches that cut across the entire business.**What are my responsibilities?**
- The Head of Accounting will oversee all local activities of the accounting and tax accounting departments and is involved in the supervision and management of general accounting activities, analyses, business partnership, and the maintenance of effective internal controls while ensuring statutory compliance in all accounting initiatives:
- Collaborate with external partners such as tax accounting firm personnel, auditors, and in all matter regarding auditing and taxation;
- Develop reports on all accounting related matters inclusive of taxation matters;
- Provide recommendations on the business’s financial approaches from an accounting and taxation perspective;
- Take initiative in ensuring departmental compliance with state tax requirements as well as with accepted accounting principles.

**What do you need to qualify for this role?**
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field;
- Fluent in English and Portuguese;
- At least 8 years of relevant accounting experience, including 3 years in a leadership role;
- Member of the Order of Certified Accountants (mandatory);
- Strong knowledge of local and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements;
- Experience managing accounting operations in a multinational company;
- Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, and accounting software;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
