Infrastructure Project Manager

**Role Purpose**:

- To participate in the appropriate internal forums, meetings, and discussions to define the HW infrastructure needs for each project, identifying opportunities to consolidate environments and/or generically obtain the maximum value for VF-PT with a mínimal cost increase.
- To track the infrastructure project progress (budget, calendar main milestones, quality...).
- To design/validate and perform a technical and financial validation of the Change Request.
- To manage the entire life cycle of infrastructure projects:

- Support the adoption of VCI standards (Private or Public Cloud) in VF-PT.
- Manage the interaction with VCI for the Infrastructure Change Requests.
- Help requesters fulfil the appropriate documentation for the Change Request.
- Support VCI with any issues that may arise with the Change Request, interacting with the requesting areas if needed.
- Overview of the SLA achievement of VCI for the Change Request.
- Close the Change Request, initiating all actions to integrate new servers (if it’s the case) in VF-PT and validate/update infrastructure control databases (CMDB, SIM).
- To perform infrastructure capacity management, together with Delivery and Operations teams, assuring the right balance between budget and system performance.
- Act as challenger and adopter of new infrastructure technologies (cloud, server types, database types, etc).
- Experience in Waterfall and Agile delivery models.
- Keeping up to date with relevant technology trends and understanding how these can be used to create enablers for faster and cost-effective delivery of new products based on IT systems.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Manage infrastructure projects making sure they are delivered on time, on budget and with quality.
- Technical translation of functional and non-functional operational requirements into infrastructure solutions/designs.
- Responsibilities to ensure that infrastructure changes are delivered with the right size and deployed with no impact on operations.
- Responsibilities to perform and manage Infrastructure capacity management in all environments.
- Influence suppliers and third parties to drive the adoption of new infrastructure technologies and delivery processes according to the Vodafone strategy, industry trends and best practices.
- Delivery of infrastructure on time & budget.
- Private and public Cloud adoption and infrastructure efficiency rate.
- Use of own technical and management expertise to deliver commitment and budget within communicated timescales.

**Ideal Background**:

- University degree (BSc/MSc) in Computing / Electronic / Telecommunications engineering or similar.
- Broad understanding of traditional (UNIX, Linux, Windows and Solaris) and Cloud IT infrastructure technologies.
- Good knowledge of IT network platforms like physical and logical server infrastructure, IP VPN networks, firewalls, routers, virtual machines, cloud computing and distributing computing.
- Good understanding of the IT industry, including the key players and their technology offering.
- Communication and presentation skills.
- Must have the ability to work independently with mínimal direction and supervision.
- Educated to an appropriate university degree standard in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Telecommunications.
- Experience: minimum 3 years (similar position).
- Experience in ITIL processes.
- Negotiation, project management presentation and influence skills.
- Proactive individual with leadership characteristics and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
- Fluent in English and Portuguese.
