Medical Affairs Review and Approval Expert (MARA)

HOW WE IMPACT PATIENTS
- Medical Affairs is an area within the Pharmaceutical Industry (Medical Department) that has medical and scientific professionals who represent the real-world clinical needs of patients, healthcare professionals and other decision makers across internal departments and leads the generation, dissemination, and discussion of unbiased clinical and scientific information about medicines and vaccines to the healthcare community. Their forward-looking strategy across the product lifecycle and diverse functional groups acts to advance patient care and health and medicines/vaccines literacy._

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
- The Medical Affairs Review and Approval Expert (MARA) is the medical expert responsible for the medical review and approval of all promotional materials across Business Units (BUs) and for the medical review of Pfizer Portugal Corporate materials._

The key responsibilities in this role include:

- Core components_
- Reviews and/or approves promotional materials across assigned areas, as well as Pfizer Portugal Corporate materials in compliance with local and global regulations and procedures through GCMA (Global Content management and Approval)
- Ensures scientific accuracy of claims, references and translations and ensures alignment with the local product label
- Is a key contributor to ensure local content promotional compliance
- During revision and approval of promotional and Corporate materials identifies risks, evaluates, and escalates to the Medical Lead of the area, Medical Quality Governance Manager (MQGM) and Country Medical Director, as appropriate until final resolution
- Supports the Medical Lead of the area and the Country Medical Director in handling complaints related to promotional materials
- Collaborates closely with the relevant cross functional colleagues across BUs and medical areas to ensure a streamlined approach and cross-pollination of best practices and innovative ideas regarding promotional materials
- Works in close collaboration with the materials’ owners (Marketing and External Communication), the Medical Affairs colleagues of each area and the MQGM

WHAT WE EXPECT

Must-Have:

- _ University Degree in Health, Life science or Law (or in other relevant areas, if significant professional experience is demonstrated)_
- _ For University degrees (non-MD or non-PhD): between 1-3 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Industry or in relevant healthcare sector activities_
- _ Profound knowledge of national legislation on promotion of pharmaceuticals products and relevant guidelines, legislation & Portuguese Code of Ethics (Apifarma)_
- _ Rigorous, with attention to details and process-oriented_
- _ Good knowledge of medical terminology (in both Portuguese and English)_
- _ Ability to effectively balance multiple deadlines and projects and to effectively prioritize_
- _ Demonstrate business partner behaviors during daily collaboration with internal teams by understanding business objectives and being solution oriented_
- _ Pro-active attitude, ability to think ahead and use initiative. Have confidence to influence/liaise with internal colleagues_
- _ Language Requirements: Fluent in Portuguese and English_
