We are looking for a Data Scientist for an Internship position to join our Learning and Development Team in Porto.

**What you will do**:

- Data exploration and preparation: Learning to clean, structure, and explore datasets to identify trends, patterns and insights.
- Model development: Undertaking initial steps in model building, such as data splitting and feature engineering, with guidance from senior team members.
- Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
- Data visualization: Creating basic data visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data science and machine learning, especially pertaining to predictive modeling.

**What you’ll bring**:

- Preferred educational background includes a degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a relevant Post-Graduate qualification in Data Science.
- A foundational understanding of a programming language such as Python or R.
- Knowledge of predictive modeling techniques, time-series analysis, regression analysis, clustering, classification, and dimensionality reduction.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and how to interact with databases.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a consultancy environment.

**Nice to have**:

- Ability to work with and manipulate datasets using tools like Pandas, Tidyverse, or similar libraries.
- Ability to create simple charts and graphs to communicate insights.
- Basic knowledge of GitHub and version control.
- Interest in advanced machine learning techniques such as Deep Learning and Generative AI.
