We are a growing software consultancy looking for a strategic, hands-on Engagement & Product Lead to join us on a fractional basis. This hybrid role is crucial for our next stage of growth, requiring a leader who can own both client relationships and product delivery for a portfolio of software projects. You will be the central point of ownership, ensuring client satisfaction and the successful delivery of high-value software products. This is not a typical project or product management role. We need an experienced professional who can navigate client strategy and dive into the details of product backlog management, ensuring our development teams are set up for success. **Key Responsibilities** - **Client Relationship Management**: Serve as the primary strategic partner for a portfolio of clients. You will be responsible for their success, managing contracts, scope, and budgets to foster long-term partnerships. - **Product Ownership**: Translate complex client needs into a clear and prioritized product backlog. You will define the "what" and "why" for our development teams, empowering them to build impactful solutions. - **Process Leadership**: Champion and utilize our Scalable Ownership Framework, a model designed to provide strategic oversight across our project portfolio. - **Team Mentorship**: Guide and coach the team on best practices in client management, product ownership, and agile methodologies to foster a culture of excellence. **Qualifications & Experience** - **5+ years of experience** in a software development agency, consultancy, or similar. - **Proven Hybrid Expertise**: Demonstrated, hands-on experience in both client/account management and product ownership/management. - **Commercial Acumen**: Experience managing Statements of Work (SOWs), project budgets, scope, and contract renewals. - **Agile Fluency**: A practical understanding of Scrum principles within a multi-project consultancy environment. - **Exceptional Communication**: Ability to confidently lead workshops, build consensus with senior stakeholders, and navigate challenging conversations. - **Builder's Mindset**: A pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem-solving and a passion for turning ambiguity into clarity. - **Portfolio Management Skills**: Experience managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously, with strong organizational systems. - We understand this is a unique, hybrid role.
