The Head of Senior School plays a central role in the growth and development plan of the school. Reporting to the Executive Head of School, the Head of Senior School is responsible for The Deputy Head: Academic, the Deputy Head: Pastoral, the IB Coordinator and the Assistant Head: Curriculum and Student Progress.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Work closely and collaboratively with the Executive Head and Senior Management Team to implement the School’s present educational strategy and policies
- Lead the recruitment and retention of Senior School staff
- Lead on the Safeguarding of Senior School students.
- Ensure a broad range of opportunities are offered to Senior School students through the development of an outstanding co-curricular programme
- Ensure excellent pastoral care for Senior School students through oversight of the work of the Deputy Head Pastoral and Heads of Year
- Working collaboratively with the Head of Admissions on the admission and induction of new students into the Senior school
- Act as line manager to the Senior School Deputy Head: Academic, Deputy Head: Pastoral, IB Diploma Coordinator and Assistant Head: Curriculum and Student Progress and members of middle leadership as required
- To lead the review and implementation of teaching & learning policies.
- Align and develop the Senior School curriculum in collaboration with Senior colleagues across the whole school.
- MORE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure a broad range of trips, visits and other educational opportunities through Senior School.
- Ensure excellence in the school’s university and careers guidance programme.
- Oversee the Assistant Head: Curriculum and Student Progress role in tracking student assessment to evaluate student progression and act upon the results guaranteeing each student achieves their best, using benchmarks and setting targets for improvement
- Ensure a culture and ethos of challenge, accountability and support.
- Ensure the PaRK IS culture is spread out across the school community.
- Ensure the IB values and learner profile is embedded in the whole school.
