**JOIN OLX MOTORS DATA SCIENCE TEAM**

The Motors Data Science team at OLX is responsible for building and scaling Machine Learning and GenAI solutions across the automotive platforms (Otomoto, Standvirtual, Autovit, OLX) in Europe. We focus on delivering state-of-the-art user-facing AI services that solve every problem for our customers.

As a Data Science Manager, you will lead a team of four Data Scientists and one Machine Learning Engineer. This is a high-impact role where you will not only mentor and grow your team but also have carte blanche to experiment and innovate. You will be exposed to key stakeholders and, most importantly, witness firsthand how your work directly impacts the day-to-day business of our customers.

**What you will do in Data Science at OLX**:

- Lead the Data Science aspects in the Motors chapter.
- Mentor and manage a team of 5 brilliant people (Data Scientists / MLEs).
- Partner with our Motors Product, Tech and Business teams to get support for innovation (you will be given the opportunity to think outside of the box 10x and not “only” 10% incremental value).
- Find opportunities where Data Science can make a huge impact.
- Help to translate business requirements into Machine Learning / GenAI projects.
- Track and measure the impact of your models on company goals.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. This means translating business needs into actionable Data Science projects by asking the right questions and collaborating closely with stakeholders.
- Collaborate across functions. For example, work seamlessly with SRE, Data Engineering, Product Analytics, and Product teams to get things done in an elegant and timely manner.
- You will work in multi-functional teams, in a diverse, multinational environment, filled with people from Portugal, Romania, Poland, Spain, Ukraine.

**Who we’re looking for**:

- Based in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.
- Proficient in English with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong presentation skills.
- Able to work in diverse, multi-functional teams with people from different backgrounds.
- Experience in managing Data Science teams.
- Very strong analytical skills. Like really strong So strong that truth and light are your two middle names.
- Solid background in statistics and modeling.
- Good knowledge of Python, which means having experience with at least one of the following: Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Pandas.
- At least 4 years of (hands-on) experience with Machine Learning (supervised, unsupervised, etc.).
- Very good knowledge of NLP and Deep Learning (Embeddings, Language Models, Transformers, etc.).
- Good knowledge of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). Practical experience of an end-to-end implementation will be a huge plus.
- Good understanding of engineering best practices, that is: testing, CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, containers.
- Hands-on experience with SQL.
- Experience with MLOps will be a plus.

**Nice to have**:

- Exposure to other programming languages such as Kotlin, Java, Scala, etc.
- Experience bringing models into production and serving models at scale.
- Experience using AWS for deploying machine learning solutions.
- Experience with building data pipelines using tools like Spark and Airflow.
- Understanding of A/B testing and experimentation.
- Exposure to MLOps tools.
