Why this job is important
We have an exciting new opportunity as Payroll Manager for Southern Europe payroll to support the Regional Payroll Manager
- EMEA. You will be responsible for delivering payroll across the Southern Europe region through a team of payroll experts. Your ability to lead and govern the team will be an integral part of the role. Your project management abilities to help assist and direct daily tasks that would result in effective payroll service delivery will play a crucial role in your success in this role.
Proficiency in French along with expertise in French payroll and French legislation are essential for this role.
What you’ll be doing
- Responsible for Payroll delivery across Southern Europe (France, Italy, Portugal, Greece & Belgium) in a smooth manner by ensuring activities are undertaken adhere to committed timelines.
- Understand our complex business needs and manage these via 3rd party provider’s.
- Review business, processes and work towards continually improving delivery and enhancing customer happiness.
- Manage a team of Payroll Specialists and work in tandem with them to ensure key accountabilities and goals are attained as per committed timelines.
- Responsible for ensuring governance controls that have been implement are followed by all payroll Specialists by performing regular checks. Checking all country payrolls have been processed accurately and approving for payment.
- Review and ensure the maintenance of country-specific knowledge repositories pertaining to your region which will be relied upon by multiple teams across the organization.
- Ensure the implementation of any new projects related to Payroll processes and systems as well as ensuring SLA for ticket closure is adhered to.
- Your managerial role will involve talent acquisition and retention of Payroll Specialists that will make up your team
- therefore team engagement and talent development will be part of your key accountabilities.
The skills & experience you’ll need.
- We are looking for a leader with 5+ years of relative experience in managing teams - Expert on French Payroll with a very sound knowledge of French legislation
- Having a Payroll/HR/Finance background with an understanding of the core proficiencies of the payroll process is also desirable
- Having worked in delivering for a multi-country set-up
- Showcase demonstrable experience in liaising with clients in past roles and having taken accountability for customer happiness
- Demonstrate ability to work independently in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
- Fluency in English and in French is required
- Experience of Workday advantageous
