**_Job Overview and Responsibilities_**

Syensqo is creating its internal Global Business Services (GBS) to cover Finance, Procurement and Human Resources activities. We offer you to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment and to contribute to this group’s transformation. Join us in our Lisbon service center, which is together with the service center in Curitiba, and Bangkok, part of this transformation journey.

The VAT team is integrated in the Finance department, being focused on VAT and Indirect Tax.

As a VAT accountant, you will work in a multinational environment, and you will get the opportunity to contribute to the compliance of the Syensqo entities in EMEA. You will directly report to the Service Billing, Interco and VAT Team Leader.

We are looking for:

- Someone experienced in and eager to learn EU VAT to join our multicultural and diverse team.

The VAT accountant will be expected to take on the following key responsibilities for the Syensqo entities in EMEA:

- Extracting reports and documents from SAP
- Preparing and filing VAT, Intrastat returns and EC-Sales Lists
- Performing (preliminary) checks and manage VAT corrections
- Performing reconciliation of VAT accounts
- Checking VAT invoice requirements and other local VAT requirements
- Checking and validating VAT treatment
- Supporting on VAT audits (internal and external)
- Other tasks assigned by the Service Billing, Interco and VAT Team Leader if needed

**_Education and Experience_**
- University degree in Accounting, Tax, Economics or Finance Tax Specialization
- Relevant work experience in VAT
- Experience in working with SAP and good excel skills

Fluent in English (any other language would be a plus)
