EDISOFT is a Portuguese company, part of the multinational Thales Group, acting in the ASD (Aeronautic, Space and Defense) domain.

We are looking for Computer Systems Engineers to join a young and dynamic team and contribute to our challenging projects (national and international).

**Responsibilities and Duties**:
The Computer Science Engineer, under the supervision of the Project Manager, is responsible for designing, developing, testing and monitoring Software in different areas of business with the defined operational requirements. In particular, the Computer Science Engineer will be responsible for the following activities:

- Analyze customer needs and develop software requirements;
- Determine how existing systems might meet emerging requirements;
- Contribute to create an architecture and design of a software solution required to fulfill system requirements;
- Troubleshooting, and debugging to resolve software problems;
- Perform automated and manual tests using the best practices to ensure that code performs as expected with all the levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression);
- Interact with relevant external stakeholders such as Portuguese Armed Forces, NATO Staff, EU Military Staff, or international industry.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
- A very good knowledge of written and spoken English;
- Conditions to obtain a valid Personnel Security Clearance Certificate (PSCC), at National, NATO and EU SECRET level. PSCC means a certificate issued by the “Gabinete Nacional de Segurança”;
- A university degree in computer science engineering, electrotechnical engineering, information technology, or other close engineering area that gives the competence for the mentioned duties;
- An operational and technical knowledge in writing, reviewing and testing software with demonstrated experience;
- Knowledge of relational databases like SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Entity Framework);
- Knowledge in testing types, methods and techniques;
- Ability to document requirements and specifications.

**Desirable skills**:
The following will be considered an advantage:

- Certifications in modern development frameworks (e.g..NET Core, Spring MVC)
- At least 03 years professional experience;
- Knowledge in telecommunication, and network protocols;
- Knowledge in electrotechnical area (wave propagation, modulation, bandwidth, bit rate, etc.);
- Knowledge about logging frameworks (log4cxx);
- Experience in defense sector;
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels;
- Availability for travelling;
