Pricing and Valuation Analyst

Job Purpose

COFCO International (CIL) is seeking a highly skilled agricultural commodity Pricing and Valuation Analyst to develop the critical controlling processes around prices and trade valuation across CIL.

To ensure the integrity of “One Product and One Price” within CIL via a Global Independent Price Verification (IPV) process, implementing critical checks and controls to enable timely identification of price deviations that create a control risk and require explanation.

Integrate ZEMA (central price repository) in CIL as part of a strategic Global Mark to Market Policy (MtM) implementation. Standardize existing and create new price curves, implement checks and controls for daily price information, and automate prices to be fed from upstream to downstream systems for PnL utilization and other metrics such as FX and risk with the support of Internal IT and External ZEMA consultants.

**Responsibilities**:
Analyzing financial price data across the full range of agricultural products, comparing external sources and establishing controls to ensure that these have been used to value the global trade positions;
Identifying inconsistencies and exceptions from the expected price valuation, investigating with the commercial and controlling teams to understand and to flag to the Global Controlling and Risk teams for review;
Developing tools (databases, Power BI), to create models using algorithms to complete price analytics, allowing timeliness and relevance in the actions taken to align “One Price to One Product” globally;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including traders, risk, and finance, to gather data and insights for pricing analysis;
Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate pricing strategies, trends, and recommendations to senior management;
Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to ensure pricing strategies align with overall business objectives;
Identify risks and opportunities related to pricing and valuation and make recommendations to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities;
Stay up to date with industry best practices and regulatory changes related to pricing and valuation methodologies;
ZEMA system primary owner to support the functional owners (local businesses) to carry out curve creation requests, testing, troubleshooting, support, training, and master data management;
Independent Price Verification (IPV) support - to build and develop the Global IPV process from Excel to database to have this within the ZEMA system directly;
Onboard and integrate CIL with ZEMA as the one-price system repository;
Implement the necessary checks and controls are made to ensure that the integrity of the data in the central price repository is maintained, as it will be used for the IPV process companywide;
Guarantee that all curves follow the approved standards of implementation and maintenance which include but are not limited to, identified owners, update frequency, standard naming, curve checks, curve independent sources;
Own price curves properties/data clean-up and standardization within the system;
Work with Regional Finance and Controlling as well as IT departments to lead automation of price information from the central repository to downstream systems such as trading and accounting systems, including the documentation of detailed functional specifications to allow this flow;
Own the creation of the functional specifications for new developments in ZEMA, work as the SME between the business and ZEMA to oversee new developments inclusive of UAT, and sign off to production. Ensure full formal documentation of ZEMA and new developments that are created;
Develop processes and guidelines for the ZEMA global community to ensure all roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, communicated, and actioned;
Other relevant business analytics support pricing and valuation metrics.

**Requirements**:
Bachelor, postgraduate, or Master degree in Management, Finance, Data Science, Engineering, or other relevant area of study;
Up to 5 years of professional experience in a similar role;
Experience working with IPV, MtM, and valuation techniques in an international company is a plus;
Fluent English speaker;
Very good analytical skills;
