**About the job**

The Controlling team is looking for a fixed term Controller to ensure that financial transactions are in compliance with corporate policy, statutory requirements, and generally accepted accounting principles. Manage processes and projects for the company, often across Business Units, Divisions, Legal Entities, or Geographic Regions. Coordinates, administers, and controls financial operations and/or projects. Operate effectively across all areas of the business operations including: General Accounting & Reporting, Policy, Tax, Legal Reporting, Statutory Reporting, Sales & Consulting, Information Technology, and general operational and corporate transactions.

**As a Controller, you will**:

- Lead the co-ordination and delivery by the Finance team of accurate, compliant, and timely month-end closure for SAS Portugal to agreed deadlines and standards.- Provide timely and accurate information to the Senior management in respect of financial summaries, variances and other financial analysis as required.- Work closely with stakeholders in key functions to ensure information flows on a timely basis to meet critical deadline- Ensure effective reporting under US and local GAAP rules.
- Ensure efficient and effective processes are in place to support the accurate and timely booking of all revenues, working with business stakeholders to achieve this.
- Work with other members of the Finance team to achieve the goal of Finance being a key differentiator in the delivery of profitable software and services revenue growth.
- Manage the provision of financial Group reporting and analysis provided on a monthly and ad hoc basis to SAS Group HQ in addition to proactively supporting Group HQ initiatives for SAS Poland- Providing monthly financial reporting and related variance and other analysis to stated time and quality standards and in accordance with US GAAP, local GAAP and published internal policies.- Servicing ad hoc requests for information and analysis from Group HQ to required time and quality standards.- Preparation of statutory accounts to agreed reporting standards.- Finalising statutory accounts in conjunction with external auditors.- Filing of statutory accounts and other returns relevant to financial year-end to agreed timescales.- Provision of financial information to the external auditors to ensure successful completion of interim and year-end audits such that there are no material control issues or accounting errors identified through the audit process.- Provision of financial information to internal Group auditors as required from time to time.- Working with the Financial Controlling team and other team members, responsible for completion and submission of all tax returns and payments pertaining to Corporation Tax and VAT ensuring accuracy and timeline- Support key Finance and corporate development projects as determined by Finance management and in support of functional and corporate goals, objectives and strategies, including the implementation of the global ERP system and work towards IPO readiness.

**Required Qualifications**Controller with minimum 4 years Financial Accounting/Controlling experience.- Awareness on Portuguese VAT, Income & Corporation Tax regulations.
- Strong communication skills in English and Portuguese.- Awareness of latest developments and best practice in financial reporting, controls, and systems.- Good systems experience and knowledge.- Strong financial analysis capability.- Results focussed and a self-starter, equally able and comfortable to deliver with others or employ a hands-on approach to ensure goals are achieved.- High degree of care for the quality of product / services produced from the Finance function.- A strong attention to detail.- Good sense of humour and team focus. Can integrate and work easily with others and be flexible to support their development and achievement of goals.- Strong interpersonal skills, credible at all levels within and outside of the Finance function.

**Preferred Qualifications**- Qualified to degree level- Audit experience/Statutory Account preparation experience- Internal audit experience- US GAAP and IFRS awareness
