Our client is one of the largest groups in the office furniture businessin with a factory in the Sintra. At this moment they intend to integrate in their structure an **EMEA Sustainability Specialist (M/F)**.

Reporting to International Sustainability Managerand in Germany will have has **main tasks**
- Leads sustainable product design efforts including product sustainability transparency (data gathering, lifecycle assessments, product declarations) and certification (related to indoor air quality, comprehensive sustainability European level). This includes internal partnering with Product Line Management, Engineering, and Sourcing;
- Supports responsible sourcing initiatives including material and supplier transparency, audits, and development. This also addresses the exclusion of banned chemicals and the promotion of more sustainable materials and processes;
- Supports sustainable operations initiatives including zero waste to landfill, energy reduction, sustainable wood, packaging, and circular services;
- Supports people and community initiatives;
- Gathers and provides environmental, safety and other technical sustainability information for decision-making and continuous improvement;
- Provides sustainability content and communication materials for global sustainability reporting, corporate assessments such as EcoVadis, existing and potential client information requests, and member engagement;
- Supports our integrated management system according to ISO 9001, 14001, 45001;
- Supports the environmental management for Haworth in Europe, incl. the PEFC chain of custody;
- Identifies existing and developing sustainability certifications, legal requirements and regulations, and trends that impact Haworth as sustainability leader;
- Seeks out new sustainability innovations and actively networks Haworth in organizations promoting sustainability;
- Leads and supports sustainability projects along the entire value chain from sustainable product design, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, until the management of used products as contributions towards a circular economy;
- Supports sustainability trainings to internal and external stakeholders;
- Collaborates with sustainability members globally and participates in development and implementation of Haworths sustainability policies, strategies, and performance objectives.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelors or Masters degree, preferably in Sustainability Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental or Health & Safety Management;
- At least 4 years in working on sustainability or environmental management in companies operating in an industrial environment;
- Knowledge or experience of lifecycle assessments, materials, product sustainability certifications, responsible sourcing, FSC or PEFC chain of custody, manufacturing, ISO 14001, preferably basic knowledge of Engineering and Manufacturing processes, sustainable buildings standards such as LEED and WELL;
- Enjoying working in an interdisciplinary and intercultural team;
- Advanced communication, conceptual and presentation skills, being able to effectively communicate and collaborate in a matrix organization and with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven project management experience;
- Analytical mindset;
- Fluent English as it will be the official language of your daily work;
- Knowledge of SAP would be a plus.
