Hiire is helping one of its clients to hire the first IT/OT Manager to oversee the operations of a new factory in the north of Portugal.
**About the Role**:
Are you passionate about bridging IT and OT to drive operational excellence? As an IT/OT Manager, you’ll lead the charge in ensuring seamless IT/OT operations, supporting critical manufacturing systems, and aligning with global standards. This role offers the chance to innovate, solve complex challenges, and make a tangible impact on a dynamic production environment.
**What You'll Do**:
**Lead and Manage IT/OT Operations**:
- Oversee IT/OT infrastructure, including servers, networks, communication platforms, and access control systems;
- Ensure business continuity by maintaining backups, managing licenses, and supporting ERP systems;
- Manage wired and wireless network traffic to meet site needs.
**Drive Continuous Improvement**:
- Optimize the performance of IT/OT systems to ensure uninterrupted production;
- Maintain and enhance security in compliance with ISO 27001 and GDPR regulations;
- Lead training initiatives for users with varying levels of IT/OT expertise.
**Collaborate and Innovate**:
- Represent the FEL Site in global IT/OT forums;
- Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the timely delivery of IT/OT solutions;
- Implement global IT/OT projects locally with precision.
**Strategic and Operational Oversight**:
- Develop and manage IT/OT-related budgets and forecasts;
- Create documentation, reports, and procedures to enhance operational transparency;
- Ensure compliance with global and local regulations, including cleanroom standards for production.
**What We're Looking For**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, IT Engineering, or Software Development;
- 5+ years of IT-related experience, particularly in manufacturing;
- Strong project management skills, especially in IT project implementation;
- Hands-on experience with SQL and CCNA certification.
**It would be a plus if you have**:
- Knowledge of manufacturing protocols (e.g., Factory Talk, OPC Server);
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO27001);
- Experience with industrial computers, HMI interfaces, and PLC systems;
- Expertise in virtual environments like vSphere and Hyper-V.
