We are looking for a **Technical Sales Trainee** to support our Institutional Sales Division in Lisbon, Portugal. This outside sales trainee opportunity is within our industry leading Institutional division, which offers comprehensive chemical products and solutions to meet the needs of customers across the foodservice and hospitality industries. As a Technical Sales trainee, you will visit customers and serve as the face of Ecolab, providing recommendations on advanced cleaning and sanitation processes and programs that drive a positive guest experience and create cleaner, safer, and healthier environments. This position is ideal for someone who is customer-oriented, possesses strong communication skills, and is keen to develop a career in technical sales. The role reports to the Sales Supervisor, Portugal.

**What You Will Do**:
Key responsibilities include:

- Observe the sales process by assisting sales representatives in acquiring new business. Practice and test sales strategies by calling existing and new clients. Maintain and develop relationships with clients. Assist customers in providing them with information like product or service quotes.
- Effective communication is essential, as there will be interaction with customers, team members, and potential clients. Clear and persuasive communication helps convey product information and address customer inquiries, building trust and interest.
- Active listening is crucial for understanding customer needs and objections, providing tailored solutions, and addressing concerns, leading to more successful sales interactions.
- The ability to conduct market research and analyze industry trends equips Sales Interns with valuable insights for identifying potential leads and understanding market dynamics. This knowledge informs sales strategies and target audience selection.
- The sales environment can be dynamic, and adaptability is crucial. Sales Interns must be open to learning and adapting to changing customer needs, market conditions, and product knowledge to effectively close sales.

**What You’ll need**:

- University Degree (BSc, BA etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Fluent in Portuguese & Very good command of English. Knowledge of Spanish will be considered a plus
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
