**_Role Accountabilities:_**
- Leading a team of software engineers to design, develop, and maintain large-scale systems that meet our clients' needs
- Ensuring continuous delivery of value through efficient development practices and timely releases
- Working closely with other development team members to ensure our systems' reliability, scalability, and security
- Aligning the team's work with the product vision and strategic goals
- Staying up to date with the latest best practices in software engineering and providing technical leadership to your team
- Handling some line management duties, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Driving improvements in development practices across the department to enhance efficiency and quality
- Contributing to the hybrid work culture, balancing remote and in-office work while fostering a positive and collaborative environment
**_Relationships:_**
- Software Engineers: Lead and collaborate with a diverse team of software engineers to create first class solutions that support our services
- Product Owners: Work closely with product owners to align the team's work with product vision and strategic goals
- Heads of Product: Coordinate with heads of product to ensure the development efforts meet their expectations and contribute to the overall product strategy
- Engineering Management: Liaise with engineering management to facilitate efficient communication and collaboration within the organisation
- Architects: Collaborate with architects to ensure the technical design of the systems aligns with the company's architectural vision and best practices
- Customers: Maintain open lines of communication with internal and external customers, ensuring their needs are met and fostering long-term relationships
**_Knowledge and Experience:_**
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent worK experience
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering
- Strong proficiency in.Net & React development, focusing on creating scalable and maintainable code
- Experience working with both relational and NoSQL databases, understanding their advantages and appropriate use cases
- Proficiency in Azure or AWS cloud services and familiarisation with IaC tooling for managing cloud infrastructure
- Commitment to code quality and maintainability, adhering to principles for readability, modularity, and simplicity
- In-depth knowledge of best practices for rapid and reliable software releases, including:
- Automation of build, test, and deployment processes
- Efficient collaboration techniques among team members to maintain a fast-paced development cycle
- Embracing iterative development methods, such as short feedback loops and incremental improvements
- Appreciation for development methodologies that emphasize test-driven development, pair programming, and contin
