The AR Specialist role will report directly to the AR Manager.
The role will deliver all AR processes, including completion of daily AR transactions while ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the entire accounts receivable process. They will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure processes are performed in accordance with performance and quality standards.
The AR Specialist responsibilities will include the following tasks:
- Receive/deposit customer payments by collecting cash from customers, depositing it into bank accounts and making entries into the books of accounts
- Post AR activity to the general ledger and prepare reports that detail balances due or what to collect from customers at a certain point in time
- Prepare AR reports, analyse delinquent account balances, and prepare the general ledger for account receivables from journals
- Place all journal entries related to accounts receivables in the general ledger accounts of the business
- Conduct AR aging analysis examining balance statements of accountholders who failed to make required payment
- Study and review the account details of customers' past payments
- Process adjustments/write off balances in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with GKN’s operating procedures
- Produce credit / collection reports
- Process adjustments and examine the alterations made in the accounts to rectify errors/omissions
- Process all AR related activities in line with the agreed SLAs
- Perform other reasonable duties within the Oder-to-Cash pillar as required
- Responsibilities during Transition period:
- Perform knowledge transfer through “train, observe, support & perform” phases, representing Porto SSC with local Entity team
- Travel to local Entity office
- Develop and maintain desktop procedures and process flows
- Support integration of newly transitioned processes into SSC; during training, hyper care and beyond
- Train new SSC team members in processes
- Contribute to continuous process improvements
- Escalate issues and feedback from local Entities
For this role, the profile we are looking for is:
- Proven experience working within Accounts Receivable process, or other core financial process, within complex, large volume environment
- Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
- Have good communication skills
- Be trustworthy and self-motivated
- Excellent organizing abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. ERP Systems)
- Good knowledge of basic O2C concepts and procedures
- Operated in complex environment with the same size and scale
- Fluent English
