Are you aligned with our values and mission to create construction materials that will lower carbon footprint in the construction industry? The Technical Director will be responsible for planning, coordinating and conducting assessments on our construction products & systems relating to Building Insulation. The Technical Director will be required to conduct market research and investigate aspects of construction product and system performance, working as part of a team of specialists and contributing to team and individual targets & objectives. In addition to these responsibilities, the role will also be expected to play a lead role and provide mentoring and technical advice to technicians and scientists developing Mykor’s products. It is an initial 18 month contract with time commitment negotiable, reflecting a solely UK market focus. After 18 months, there is the potential to continue and with an equal focus also on the EU market.
- Interest in sustainable and/or natural construction materials, preferably mycelium.
- Ability to be adaptable to the start-up work context.
- Knowledge of relevant building regulations & standards, equally in the UK and EU
- Experience working with construction products and systems.
- Technical understanding of cavity wall construction, potential failures of the construction and Mykor systems.
- Computer literate with specific experience of Microsoft packages, CRM programs
- Business Appreciation/Market Awareness
- Good Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- 2-5 years’ experience in a relevant role (executive assistant, founder associate, consulting, investor relations, or fundraising).
- Excellent communicator and storyteller in English (Portuguese is a plus).
- Confident, outgoing, and comfortable representing Mykor externally.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
- Highly proactive and adaptable, thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Interest in sustainability, biotech, or climate tech.

Role:

- Draft and refine investor materials (pitch decks, one-pagers, follow-ups).
- Support the CEO in managing investor and customer pipelines, outreach, and relationship-building.
- Represent Mykor at networking events, conferences, and accelerators—confidently pitching the company if needed.
- Conduct market and competitive research to strengthen Mykor’s fundraising story.
- Track deliverables and reporting requirements for grants and investors.

**Job Types**:

**Salary**: up to €2,500 pcm (depending on experience) + equity options.
