Job DescriptionJob Title: Backend Engineer (Python)   Location: PortugalWork Regime: Full-time & Remote (must reside in Portugal)Overview / Summary: We are seeking a Python Backend Engineer to join a high-impact AI-focused project. The role involves building and scaling production-grade backend services, with a strong emphasis on cloud-native architectures and AI platform integrations. The project will be delivered by a team of six engineers working collaboratively to design, implement, and optimise robust backend solutions.Responsibilities and Tasks:Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python for production environments Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python for production environmentsDevelop and deploy cloud-native solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, and S3Integrate AI and foundation model services using platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex, or Microsoft AI FoundryAnalyse and optimise application performance through profiling, debugging, and refactoringCollaborate closely with other engineers and stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable solutionsContribute to architectural decisions, code quality standards, and best practices across the teamRequirementsMandatory Requirements:+5 years of experience in Backend Development with Python and experience building and operating production applicationsExperience with AWS services, including Lambda, EC2, S3, and their APIs Proven expertise in designing, building, and consuming GraphQL APIsStrong background in performance optimisation using Python profiling, debugging, and refactoring toolsExperience with AI platform APIs (AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex, Microsoft AI Foundry, or similar)Knowledge of prompt engineering and experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack, or other RAG solutions is a plusBenefitsImportant:Our company does not sponsor work visas or work permits.
