Job Description:We Dream. We Do. We Deliver. About MerkleJob DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer with a focus on backend and API testing to join our team. If you're passionate about ensuring the quality and reliability of backend services and APIs, we want to hear from youKey Responsibilities:Develop and execute automated tests for backend services and APIs, ensuring seamless integration and high-quality delivery.Perform API testing, contract testing, and integration testing using tools like Postman, Pact, and RestAssured.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies and ensure applications meet functional, security, and performance requirements.Utilize DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins) for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.Manage test cases and defects using tools such as Jira and Xray, ensuring efficient test execution and bug tracking.Work within an Agile environment, applying BDD, TDD, and ATDD techniques for continuous improvement.Contribute to the overall success of the team by fostering collaboration, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving.Required Skills & Experience:Strong experience with backend and API testing, including hands-on experience with tools like Postman, RestAssured, and Pact.Expertise in test automation frameworks and scripting in JavaScript/TypeScript.Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes (e.g., Jenkins) to streamline testing and delivery pipelines.Experience with test and defect management tools such as Jira and Xray.Proven ability to work effectively in an Agile development environment, using BDD, TDD, and ATDD approaches.Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.Preferred Experience:Knowledge of cloud technologies, especially Amazon AWS.Experience with test automation tools like Playwright and PactumJS.In-depth understanding of lower layer testing, including API and contract testing.Additional informationWe do not sponsor work visa.For those who don't havePortuguese documents(NIF and NISS), we suggest you to search for more information at local countryentity, for possible roles in Merkle Portugal.Benefits and perks:Work in international environment.Modern Technology & Latest IT tools.Software-house environment.Agile and Flexible working hours.Digital nomad policy.Focus on career development.Health insurance (also included for the household).Mental health support.Volunteer experiences and sustainable mindset.25 vacation days + 3 wellness days per year.Beers (after 6pm), foosball, and ping-pong #workhardplayhardFree breakfast every second Monday of the month.Employee discounts.Team & Company events 🎉Inclusion & Diversity#LI-Hybrid #LI-MERKLE
