Finance & Accounting Specialist

With more than 13,000 employees around the world, we are committed to using our energy and heart to drive a better tomorrow. The General Account & Financial Master Data within EDP GBS is looking to recruit a Finance & Accounting Specialist. What you will do:Record and analyze corporate financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS and USGAAP).Record and reconcile accruals and deferrals.Assist with accounting for projects in development (projects accounting).Record fixed assets and depreciation of EDP and EDPR Corporate.Support procurement operations process (suppliers master data) and follow up on supplier's registers/open items.Prepare reconciliations to properly support account balances / manage and resolve open items.Perform analyses of financial statement variances.Prepare reports on accounting data.Maintain local chart of accounts / other relevant data in SAP system.Follow up on intra-group transactions and investigate/resolve differences.Collaborate with consolidation team, providing information and explanations.Assist internal and external audits.Participate in accounting or system-related projects as required.Additional duties as required  Employment type: Full-TimeWork site: Hybrid What are we looking for:Bachelor's degree in accounting.3+ years of relevant experience (public accounting experience preferred).CPA/Chartered Accountant Certification (preferred).Knowledge of IFRS required (US GAAP knowledge highly valued).Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel required.Knowledge of SAP as a user in financial modules required.Knowledge of automation tools and technology in general valued.Strong analytical and attention to details skills.Excellent problem-solving ability.Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.Critical thinking and capacity to propose solutions to problems and process redesign (process excellence oriented).Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.Solid level of English, written and spoken.  More than academic knowledge and technical skills, we are looking for ambitious people who are enthusiastic about the future and who bring human skills aligned with our purpose. Equal opportunities for allOur vision is that each person combines their unique characteristics and experiences to fulfill our mission of creating new energy for the planet.
