At Hovione, we are seeking a proactive and collaborative Sustainability Specialist to join our team in Portugal. This role is ideal for someone with a background in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry who thrives on connecting departments, driving sustainability initiatives, and embedding environmental responsibility into everyday operations.Your RoleAs a Sustainability Specialist, you will:Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Hovione’s Sustainability Management System.Lead and contribute to sustainability projects, including current initiatives such as water saving and resource efficiency.Build bridges between departments to ensure alignment and engagement with sustainability goals.Promote and ensure compliance with internal and external sustainability standards and regulations.Monitor and report on sustainability performance indicators, identifying opportunities for improvement.Support internal and external audits related to sustainability and environmental compliance.Develop and deliver training and awareness programs to foster a culture of sustainability.Collaborate with vendors, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.Ensure all activities are conducted in alignment with GMP, HSE, and company policies. We are looking to recruit a Candidate: What You BringUniversity degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Industrial Engineering, or a related scientific field (mandatory).Preferences: 3–5 years of experience in sustainability or environmental roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.Strong understanding of sustainability principles, environmental regulations, and management systems.Experience in leading or supporting cross-functional projects and initiatives.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Fluency in English (mandatory).Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant digital tools.
