What you will do

Metyis Is Growing We Are Looking For An Experienced Principal Data Scientist To Join Our Data Science & Business Analytics Team. As a Principal You

• Own and lead complex client engagements end-to-end, acting as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders.
• Translate business problems to analytics solutions with clear output. Translate analytical output to drive business decisions that create impact.
• Translate analytical insights into concrete recommendations that drive measurable business impact.
• Provide overall project leadership, including delivery quality, timelines, team orchestration, and stakeholder management.
• Oversee and review analytical work, ensuring methodological rigour, relevance, and clarity in client deliverables.
• Develop and present high-quality, executive-ready presentations and narratives.
• Function as a sounding board for data and analytics related questions of client business leadership.
• Seek compelling opportunities beyond the scope of the current project.
• Lead, coach, and develop junior team members, fostering both technical excellence and consulting skills.
• Contribute to the growth of Metyis by shaping offerings, approaches, and thought leadership within data science and analytics.

What you will bring

• Master (or PhD) degree in a quantitative field with a focus on data analysis (e.g. econometrics, AI, mathematics, statistics, physics, and other exact sciences).
• Strong problem-solving and solution-design capabilities, including the ability to structure ambiguous business problems.
• Deep understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning techniques, and when to apply them in a business context.
• Broad technical expertise across analytics and data science tools, including Databases and data platforms (e.g. SQL, BigQuery, NoSQL), Programming languages (e.g. Python, PySpark, R), Data visualization and BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau), and Machine learning and advanced analytics frameworks. Solid understanding of data engineering and production environments is a plus.
• Proven ability to own the full responsibility of overall delivery, manage projects with expert team members, and provide inspiring guidance to the team.
• 7+ years of consulting experience or relevant industry experience, with at least 3+ years at a project lead level.
• Excellent communication skills, especially explaining complex analytical concepts in non-technical terms to business users.
• Professional fluency in English, Portuguese is a plus.
