About the Role

We are looking for a
DevSecOps / Application Platform Engineer
to join one of our Public Sector teams in Lisbon. This role is focused on implementing, maintaining, and securing complex application and web systems while driving continuous improvement across our on-premises infrastructure. You will work collaboratively with multiple teams, ensuring stability, performance, and compliance of mission-critical environments.

Your Responsibilities

System Implementation & Maintenance

  • Implement and support application/web systems, coordinating with vendors, network teams, server administrators, and cybersecurity.
  • Execute preventive, corrective, and evolutionary maintenance of the technological infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance and act proactively to ensure optimal availability.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to application and web systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and configurations.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and continuously improve security measures to protect systems and data.
  • Create and enforce policies and security procedures for operating systems, networks, storage, and local services.
  • Automate hardening, patch management, monitoring, and compliance processes.
  • Implement secure management of secrets and access control mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure visibility and control of internal assets.
  • Support detection, analysis, and incident response in on-premises environments.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement process automation within on-premises infrastructure, focusing on security, consistency, and traceability.
  • Define provisioning, configuration, and deployment pipelines adapted to organizational needs.
  • Promote and train teams on good DevSecOps practices to ensure long-term sustainability.

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years
    of experience in preventive, corrective, and evolutionary IT infrastructure maintenance.
  • Proven experience in system performance monitoring and proactive intervention.
  • Solid understanding of implementing and maintaining enhanced security measures.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Deep experience in
    on-premise environments
    , including physical servers, virtualization, networking, backups, and data center security.
  • Familiarity with
    infrastructure-as-code
    and configuration automation practices.
  • Strong knowledge of
    operational security
    , including privilege management, network segmentation, system hardening, and compliance.
  • Ability to design
    secure, non-cloud solutions
    .
  • Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a drive for continuous improvement.
