Aquaterra group is a growing company, that carries out consulting and agricultural services which includes everything from the assessment of land, the design and execution of the irrigation and planting project, as well as the management of the farm.

Aquaterra currently owns and manages over 6,500 hectares of irrigated farmland, focused on 2 types of fruits, Avocados and Tangerines, both very coveted crops which will continue to experience structural demand growth for the foreseeable future and that will continue to be supply-constrained.

As our projects and crops are growing, so is our team. We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team and grow together

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Junior Accountant. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day financial transactions, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and supporting the month-end close process. The Junior Accountant will be located in Lisbon but will have flexibility for some remote work.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Booking of accounting documents to ensure all transactions are recorded
  • Assistance in reconciliation of accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank accounts
  • Organization and update of financial data to ensure the information is updated and available on demand
  • Assistance on preparation and submission of weekly/monthly reports
  • Assistance in the preparation of monthly closings
  • Assistance in the preparation of year end individual financial statements and separate annual report

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Other

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1 year experience in accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ERP Primavera is a plus
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Spanish skills are valorized
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality
