Manage and maintain Microsoft Enterprise Infrastructure solutions for Gijima and its clients, with a strong focus on Active Directory, Exchange, and supporting technologies. Responsibilities include domain and email administration, system maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and project delivery.

FORMAL EDUCATION:
  • Minimum: Grade 12 or equivalent (suitably qualified as articulated in the Employment Equity Act).
  • Preferred: Tertiary education (Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field).
 EXPERIENCE:
  • 7 years of general IT experience, with at least 2 years in a specialist role managing AD and Exchange service administration.
Preferred Experience (Significant Advantage):
  • Office 365 and/or Microsoft Defender / eDiscovery cases.
  • Hybrid environments and Microsoft Entra Connect.
  • Scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell).
 TECHNICAL / LEGAL CERTIFICATION
  • Relevant vendor certifications, such as MCSE or MCSA (Windows Server 2012–2019)
    AND/OR
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ‑800 & AZ‑801)
 RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer and maintain Active Directory and Exchange
  • Perform domain and email system administration, including security and compliance.
  • Provide third-level support for complex technical issues.
  • Lead and execute infrastructure projects such as migrations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Manage supporting technologies to ensure seamless interoperability.
  • Implement innovative solutions to meet customer requirements in consultation with architects.
  • Coordinate lab tests for upgrades and project deployments.
  • Document environments, implementations, and develop detailed work instructions.
  • Perform trend analysis and make recommendations for optimization.
  • Drive ongoing improvements and maintenance, including version management.
  • Adhere to Incident, Problem, and Change Management principles and processes.
 SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: 
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory and related components: DNS, DHCP, IPAM, AGPMC, RODC, GPO, PKI, DFS, replication, delegation, security, and troubleshooting.
  • Extensive knowledge of Enterprise Messaging systems, specifically Microsoft Exchange (up to at least Exchange 2016).
  • Familiarity with Office 365, Intune, Mail Archiving, Defender, ADFS, ADLDS, ADCA, Azure AD, and AAD Connect (advantageous).
  • Solid understanding of Windows Operating Systems and network fundamentals.
  • Ability to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions using PowerShell scripting.
  • Sound knowledge of the ITIL framework and its application in enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of disaster recovery principles and testing methodologies.
  • Analytical and creative critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team and build strong relationships based on trust and openness.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with colleagues and customers.
  • Initiative-taking, proactive, and committed to continuous learning and staying current with industry developments.
