WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU?

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a technical equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience as an SAP Technical Developer/Specialist, with at least 3 years specifically in SAP IS-U.
• Expert-level proficiency in ABAP programming, including Object-Oriented ABAP, debugging, performance tuning, and development tools.
• Deep technical knowledge of key IS-U data structures (tables) and associated enhancement techniques (BAdIs, Exits) across Billing, FICA, and DM.
• Proven experience with interface technologies relevant to SAP (IDocs, RFCs, Web Services, oData) and resolving interface failures.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP Transport Management System (STMS) and disciplined adherence to technical change control procedures.

• System Integration: Strong understanding of how IS-U interacts technically with other SAP modules (FI, MM, SD) and external systems.

HOW WILL YOUR DAILY JOB BE?

Leadership & Team Management:

• Serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for custom code, interfaces, and complex technical issues within the IS-U landscape.
• Guide and instruct L1/L2 support teams on effective initial technical triage and log analysis for IS-U related incidents.
• Collaborate directly with external vendors and other technical teams (e.g., PI/PO, Database Administrators) to resolve cross-system integration failures and performance bottlenecks.

Platform Strategy & Implementation:

• Perform technical impact analysis for SAP Notes, support packs, and minor version upgrades related to IS-U, focusing on potential conflicts with existing custom developments (Z-objects).
• Maintain technical documentation for interfaces, custom reports, enhancements, and critical batch jobs.
• Ensure all technical fixes and developments adhere to established coding standards, security policies, and performance best practices.

Solution Development & Customization:

• Execute advanced debugging (ABAP Debugger) on complex production incidents, including those involving parallel processing, BAdIs, user exits, and critical master data.
• Develop, test, and implement high-quality ABAP code fixes (hotfixes) and minor technical enhancements to resolve identified bugs and performance issues.
• Analyze and repair issues related to interfaces and integration with other systems (e.g., using IDocs, web services, RFCs) that impact IS-U processes.
• Perform database-level analysis (e.g., using SE16, SQL Trace) to understand data inconsistencies and propose data correction scripts or programs where necessary.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Translate complex technical issues into clear, actionable summaries for functional analysts and IT management.
• Provide technical sign-off on all code migrations and transport requests destined for the production system, mitigating deployment risks.
• Participate actively in Problem Management meetings, providing technical insights into the root causes of recurring incidents.

Performance Optimization & Analytics:

• Proactively monitor and optimize the performance of time-critical ABAP programs, mass processing jobs (e.g., Billing/Invoicing), and custom reports using tools like SE30 (Runtime Analysis) and ST12 (Single Transaction Analysis).
• Tune and refine custom ABAP code to improve runtime efficiency and reduce the overall load on the system during peak operational periods.
• Analyze and resolve technical issues related to spool management, batch job scheduling, and high data volume processing.

Compliance & Security:

• Ensure all technical code changes and transports are executed strictly following the Change Management policy and maintain full auditability.
• Work with the Basis and Security teams to troubleshoot and resolve authorization and security-related errors ($TCODE, SU53) within the IS-U transactions and custom programs.
