Key Responsibilities

• Data Integration & Transformation: Oversee the ingestion and harmonization of diverse data sources, ensuring reliability, consistency, and performance.
• ETL & Orchestration: Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT processes with a focus on scalability, modularity, and reusability.
• Database Engineering: Design and manage high-performance data warehouses and time-series databases (e.g., TimescaleDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Quality & Governance: Implement automated data validation, quality checks, and monitoring systems to ensure integrity across the data lifecycle.
• API Integration: Develop and maintain interfaces for seamless data access and integration with internal and external systems.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, analytics, and machine learning teams to understand business needs and translate them into data solutions.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Promote best practices through comprehensive documentation and mentorship of junior engineers

Requirements
Minimum requirements

• Hold a BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or Systems Engineering — because we like our Data Engineers powered up.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field. Show us your analytical battle scars (metaphorical, of course).
• Proven experience with data pipelines design and orchestration (Prefect, Nomad, AirFlow..), ideally with time-series data. Your data prowess speaks for itself.
• Proficiency in programming languages, mainly Python and SQL, as well experience with OOP and Git. You're a coding ninja with these tools.
• Experience managing and manipulating relational databases. Knowledge about non-relational databases is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousing. You're the architect of our data world.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills combined with strong communication abilities—you turn complex puzzles into compelling stories that resonate with audiences.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively while maintaining meticulous attention to detail, ensuring data quality and team success.
• Live in Portugal and speak fluent Portuguese.

Nice To Have

• Experience with Go, DBT, or Bash scripting
• Previous work with ML Ops or machine learning pipelines
• DevOps Collaboration: Contribute to CI/CD processes and containerization (e.g., Docker) to support robust and agile data delivery.
• Data Architecture: Contribute to implementation of robust data architectures and pipelines that support real-time and batch processing of wind and solar datasets.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and confort to work on prem
• Understanding of big data frameworks and tools is a plus. Big data challenges are your playground.
