We are seeking a
Senior Performance Engineer
to work on a project for a Financial Company.

You will have the following responsibilities:

  • Application Performance Optimization: Monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance of critical banking applications from legacy on-prem systems to modern cloud solutions in Azure;
  • Performance Testing: Design, execute, and lead load, stress, and diagnostic tests to ensure system stability and responsiveness;
  • Bottleneck Analysis: Identify performance issues across CPU, memory, network, I/O, and latency, providing actionable insights and solutions;
  • Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning, recommending infrastructure upgrades and architectural improvements;
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to ensure performance goals are met;
  • Technical Communication: Translate complex technical findings into clear language for different audiences from COBOL developers to agile squads;
  • Governance & Best Practices: Support the definition and implementation of performance governance and best practices across the organization;
  • Work with teams managing over 600 applications across different environments;
  • Analyze system performance, identify slowdowns, and propose improvements;
  • Execute and evaluate performance tests and diagnostics;
  • Assist in capacity planning and ensure alignment with business KPIs and performance targets.

You need to have the following skills/experience:

  • Proven Experience in performance optimization and diagnostics for complex, large-scale systems.
  • Hybrid Background combining infrastructure and software development expertise;
  • Azure Expertise: Experience in monitoring, tuning, scaling, and networking in Azure environments;
  • Strong APM Knowledge and hands-on experience with performance testing tools and methodologies;
  • Excellent Communication and ability to work collaboratively with diverse technical teams;
  • Analytical and Autonomous Profile, with strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

Location
Oeiras (Hybrid - 3 days per week in the office).
