What will be your role

We are looking for talented
Backend & AI Engineer
to join a strategic project for a leading client in the
banking sector
. This role combines expertise in backend engineering with hands-on experience in
Generative AI
to design, implement, and scale intelligent solutions that drive automation, efficiency, and transformation across multiple business areas. The ideal candidate will bring strong backend skills with .NET and SQL, experience in event-driven architectures, and a creative mindset to architect, design, and optimize workflows powered by
Large Language Models
(LLMs).

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain
  backend services
  using .NET (or other) in alignment with banking sector standards.
• Architect and implement
  event-driven microservices
  to ensure scalable, resilient, and efficient solutions.
• Build and refine
  LLM-based workflows
  and intelligent agents that automate tasks and streamline business processes.
• Apply
  prompt engineering techniques
  to optimize model outputs and create effective AI-driven solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and integrate
  AI agents
  across diverse business units.
• Leverage
  OpenAI LLMs
  within a backend infrastructure built on .NET C#, with React on the frontend.
• Work with modern event-streaming and caching technologies such as
  Kafka
  and
  Redis
  , ensuring performance and scalability.
• Deploy and manage applications using
  Kubernetes
  , ensuring high availability and resilience of solutions.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-driven automation and innovation.

What should you bring to the team?

• Proven experience in
  backend development
  with .NET (or other backend language) and relational databases (MySQL, SingleStore, or similar).
• Solid knowledge of
  event-driven architectures
  and microservices design.
• Hands-on experience with
  Generative AI
  technologies, especially
  prompt engineering
  and LLM architecture.
• Experience building workflows and algorithms leveraging AI to automate and optimize business processes.
• Ability to design creative and innovative solutions, balancing technical feasibility with business needs.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex AI capabilities into business value.
• Comfortable working in Agile environments, with excellent organizational and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English (written and spoken).
• Availability to work in a hybrid model (3 days a week) at clients' offices in Lisbon.
